The recent spell of hot weather hasn’t just hit the UK. In Bayreuth, the sun is shining once more. And what a welcome departure that is from the last couple of “summers”. I drove my car over from the UK last year, but it was so wet and miserable here that a boat would probably have served me better.
The restoration of the outside of the Festspielhaus is now complete. And how good it looks in the glorious Franconian sunshine!
Split days are the norm here. Rehearsals in the mornings and evenings, with the afternoons free. And what better way to pass the hours than trying to capture the Festspielhaus in all its freshly painted glory?
