About me

My name is Iain Paterson.

If you’ve found your way here, you probably already know that I sing a bit of opera now and again.

I started this site a few years ago as a means of profitably utilising my free time when I was on the road. I’d originally intended it to be about anything and everything which happened to catch my interest, and to contain fewer words and more photographs, but, in a case of art imitating life, singing very quickly began to dominate.

A hectic work schedule, combined with a certain amount of frustration with the opera industry, and a complete disenchantment with social media, led to my withdrawal from life online, and, inevitably, this site fell silent.

These days, I find myself more interested in photography than writing. Moving forward, I wish for the site to reflect that. More photographs, fewer words. A change of style, tone, and pace.

I have removed all media from the site which were not written or photographed by me. As of now, 100% of site content is all my own work.

I will, of course, leave my old opera musings on the site, for those who occasionally like to revisit them.

PS – If you want to know more about the singing bit, you can find it here:-
